This Friday, October 17, the school’s a cappella groups are set to perform at their annual concert, Acatober. This performance will feature the A cappella groups; Inchordination A cappella, Ladies First A cappella, Renegade A cappella and A cappella Anonymous in addition to the other five high school choirs. The concert will also include the Tufts University Amalgamates as a guest group that will perform in the show.
“Last year we had an amazing turn out to Acatober and actually oversold tickets,” said Mark Sibold ’15, the leader of Renegade A cappella. “This year, the event has even more hype and even more people coming, and the a cappella groups will not disappoint,” Sibold added.
Acatober’s large crowds add to the concert’s success. “Since acatober tends to attract a variety of audience members other than just our typical crowd of parents, it provides a fun and somewhat competitive environment between A capella members,” said Caroline Allieri ’15, the leaders of Ladies First A cappella.
“There is always a buzz that we can feel coming from the audience,” said Sibold. “All the groups are pumped to perform and see the awesome turn out.”
The concert will start at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for senior citizens and children under 12.
